Biodegradable film has many unique properties. It has a low melt point which makes it hard to treat without blowing holes in the film. Since it's hard to treat, it makes it worse to print a water based ink on it; especially after its aged a few days post extrusion.
A very common problem with this film is the ink rubbing or scratching off easily. The Polydyne ink system cures that problem with great adhesion and excellent scratch resistance. Even on aged films that have been extruded weeks prior, the Polydyne ink system wets out and performs. It can be made with compostable pigments if needed as well.
This is our new PolyTuff ink system. It can run flexo or gravure. It has great adhesion to numerous substrates, good product resistance, and runs excellent on press.
